How much does your weight loss program cost?

We have three programs: 
1) Flex Now membership is $249.99/mo for the first 3 months, followed by $99.99/mo for monthly maintenance.  This includes the Flex Premium App, Starter Kit, telemedicine visits, 1:1 coaching, clinically appropriate prescription(s) and an Insurance Advocate.  Flex Now does not include the cost of medications.

2) Flex Pay (3-6 months) is an affordable payment plan towards total cost of Flex service plus monthly medication. This includes both brand medication (e.g., Zepbound, Wegovy, Ozempic, Mounjaro) or Flex Certified Semaglutide. Qualifying patients are covered 100% upfront for all costs and are only responsible for monthly payments of $222/mo for up to 36 months. As patients make monthly payments, their available credit accrues and can be used towards additional service and medication. The exact duration of coverage will depend on which medication, any applicable insurance coverage and applicable medication savings cards. Note: Patients need to pre-qualify for this plan.

3) Flex Pay (12 months) is a flat $425/month for 12 months. This includes everything offered in Flex Now membership, as well as monthly Semaglutide shipped directly to your home. This is our most popular and affordable program for patients with no insurance coverage for GLP-1 medications.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes.  Our Insurance Advocate service is available through all of our programs. Our advocates  work directly with your insurance provider to help with the process of determining coverage for clinically appropriate GLP-1 medications, submitting prior authorizations, conducting necessary appeals and peer-to-peer reviews. We accepts both insurance or patient pay.

What if my insurance doesn't cover my medication?

If for some reason your insurance does not cover the cost of your prescribed medication, you’ll have the option to utilize one of our Flex Pay programs or pay for the medication out of pocket (typically between $550–$1,600/month, depending on the medication and applicable savings cards).  We have multiple programs to help meet your budget.

Why do I need a HbA1c and Cholesterol test?

When it comes to weight loss, your body's biology plays a key role. That's where your HbA1c+Cholesterol lab test comes in. The test looks at your blood glucose level and cholesterol panel to understand how your body works right now. The results help your Flex provider determine which GLP-1 medication is right for you.

A lab test may also help with insurance coverage for the medication. Some plans may require lab results as part of the prior authorization process that prove medical necessity for the specific medication.

A HbA1c+Cholesterol blood spot test is included in your Starter kit through all Flex programs. You can take your test from the comfort and privacy of your home and have the option to purchase additional at-home blood tests to check progress

How do weight loss injections work?

All of the weight loss injections you can get through Flex belong to a revolutionary class of medications called GLP-1s. These drugs are an exciting new approach to weight loss and an integral part of an effective medical weight loss program.

GLP-1 drugs mimic the naturally-occurring, metabolism-regulating hormones, which your body uses to regulate blood sugar and appetite. GLP-1s directly affect the part of your brain in charge of feeling full and satisfied, and they also slow down how quickly food leaves your stomach. As your digestion slows, you may feel full longer and therefore eat less, which can lead to weight loss.

What happens after I complete my eligibility quiz?

If you are eligible to participate in the Flex program, you will be redirected to two important links in your email around HIPAA policy acknowledgement and consent.

During your first appointment, your provider will discuss your health goals, review your medical history, review lab tests and may order a clinically appropriate prescription medication. Your provider will collaborate with you to create a personalized health plan, alongside lifestyle recommendations that will be delivered through the Flex app activity stream. Upon starting a weight loss medication, regular check-ins with your provider will be scheduled. The frequency of these visits can vary but are usually once a month.

During these check-ins, the provider will evaluate your progress in weight loss, monitor your medication tolerance, arrange prescription refills, and adjust your care plan as necessary.

Question 10

What happens if my BMI falls below 27?

If your BMI drops below 27, it is possible that you may no longer require GLP-1 medications, and your insurance may no longer cover the cost of the medication. In this situation, your healthcare provider will reassess your eligibility to determine if you can continue with the program. There are patients that may require maintenance therapy even if their BMI drops below 27 and your healthcare provider will determine if this option is right for you.

What are GLP-1 medications?

GLP-1 medications work by regulating appetite to reduce food intake.  Studies have demonstrated their potential to achieve weight reductions of up to 20% body weight in individuals who take them for a year or longer, in conjunction with healthy lifestyle choices*.

Weight loss is not solely reliant on willpower, as biological factors affecting metabolism, hunger, and weight can be beyond your control.

GLP-1s promote a prolonged feeling of fullness, help control food cravings, and enhance the body’s ability to process sugars more efficiently. Consequently, these medications are often prescribed for managing type 2 diabetes or obesity.

In chronic weight management, GLP-1 medications are sometimes utilized alongside a reduced-calorie diet and increased physical activity. They are also employed in patients with diabetes to assist in blood sugar management.

Examples of GLP-1 medications include:

What are the side effects of GLP-1s?

We may prescribe a GLP-1 medication called Semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy) or Rirzepatide (Zepbound, Mounjaro). The most common side effects of all these medications typically resolve within the first few weeks of treatment.

Some of the most common side effects of Semaglutide are:

 • Upset stomach
 • Stomach pains
 • Constipation
 • Diarrhea
 • Heartburn
 • Acid reflux
 • Belching and gas
 • Dizziness
 • Headaches
 • Fatigue

Some of the most common side effects of Tirzepatide are:
 • Nausea
 • Diarrhea
 • Vomiting

 • Stomach pains
 • Upset stomach
 • Indigestion
 • Injection-site reactions
 • Fatigue
 • Belching and gas
 • Hair loss
 • Heartburn

More severe side effects are more rare, but possible. Serious side effects include:
 • Thyroid cancer—The FDA has issued its most serious warning (called a BOXED WARNING) that GLP-1s like Semaglutide may be associated with a type of thyroid cancer called medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC). So far, this side effect has only been seen in laboratory studies using rodents, so the risk to humans has not been determined. Semaglutide is contraindicated in patients with a family history of MTC or in patients with Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2).

Who should avoid taking a GLP-1 medication for weight loss?

If you meet any of the following criteria, you may not be eligible for a prescription of GLP-1 weight loss medication:

1. Currently pregnant, breastfeeding, or actively trying to become pregnant
2. End-stage kidney disease (on or about to be on dialysis)
3. End-stage liver disease (cirrhosis)
4. Active eating disorder or history of eating disorder (bulimia, anorexia, etc.)
5. Current suicidal thoughts and/or prior suicidal attempt
6. Cancer (active diagnosis or treatment)
7. Current or history of pancreatitis
8. History of organ transplant on anti-rejection medication
9. Severe gastrointestinal condition (gastroparesis, inflammatory bowel disease) 
10. Personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or multiple endocrine neoplasia (MEN) type 2

Medical weight loss programs also often include clinically appropriate prescription medications such Wegovy, Zepbound, Compounded Semaglutide or Tirzepatide to ensure long-term success. Medications may also include Mounjaro or Ozempic depending on other preexisting medical conditions such as Type 2 Diabetes.

These new weight loss injections are an integral component in losing and keeping off weight when they’re combined with a healthy diet, exercise and lifestyle habits.

A comprehensive medical weight loss program typically starts with a healthcare professional ordering certain blood tests and asking about your medical history and weight loss goals. After that, a healthcare professional prescribes weight loss medication, if medically appropriate, and monitors your progress in the months to come.

How fast can you lose weight through medical weight loss?

Medical weight loss programs are highly effective for noticeable weight loss within a few months, especially when combining prescribed weight loss medication with diet, exercise and habit changes. For instance, in a clinical trial where patients combined Wegovy, an FDA-approved GLP-1 weight loss injection, with a healthy diet and exercise lost an average of over 4% of their body weight after just eight weeks. Who qualifies for weight loss medications?

While prescriptions for weight loss medication cannot be guaranteed for every patient, if you are 18 years of age or older and meet specific criteria such as Body Mass Index (BMI) and certain associated health conditions, your healthcare provider may consider you eligible for a prescription. Generally speaking, those who qualify are: individuals with obesity (BMI > 30), individuals with overweight (BMI > 27) with a weight related health condition (such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes, dyslipidemia, PCOS, etc), those who are seeking maintenance therapy that have a BMI > 22 and if their current BMI < 27, have a history of obesity or overweight with a weight related health condition.

What is the refund policy?

You may cancel your subscription at any time after your original program duration (e.g., monthly for Flex Now, 3-6 months for Flex Pay 3-6).

You must cancel before any future billing periods to avoid additional charges. Your previously incurred monthly fees are non-refundable.

For Flex Now members, you can cancel directly through the app from Profile > Subscriptions.
